College Audition Workshop for Parents & Teens
Two workshops at once designed for parents & teens
planning to  pursue a BA or BFA in Theatre Arts
at colleges & conservatories

WHO SHOULD ATTEND THE WORKSHOP?

Anyone who hopes to be accepted into a college program in the performing arts. The process of applying to these programs is complex and daunting. With an increased number of applicants having higher levels of training and preparedness, the competition is such that most programs are accepting less than 5% of applicants. Let Spotlight Musical Theatre Academy provide you with inside tips for  success.

WHO WILL LEAD THE WORKSHOP?

Lisa Mitchell, owner and principal of Spotlight Musical Theatre Academy, recently navigated the confusing, and often times overwhelming, process required to apply and audition for an Acting and Musical Theatre program. Three years ago, her daughter auditioned for 12 theatre programs across the US. Lisa has been hired by Oregon Children's Theatre and numerous families to provide workshops and individual consulting that has resulted in student's success in admission to various university programs. Lisa's goal is to  provide you with inside tips for success.

Lisa will speak with parents about ALL ASPECTS of the application, prescreen, on campus, unified, and call back auditions. She will share her personal experience of successfully taking her daughter through these auditions nationwide, including 3 years of researching the college theatre audition process, how they organized themselves during her daughter’s junior year in high school and the process that they went through during the senior year of applications and auditions.
